THE NORTH FACE GROSSGLOCKNER ULTRA-TRAIL 2026

The power of the Grossglockner and the silence of the mountains.

Grossglockner Ultra-Trail – the trail run on the "Glockner loop" with 110 km and 6,500 m of elevation gain around Austria’s highest mountain: It is Friday, shortly before 9:30 p.m., Kaprun, our eyes turn towards the main Alpine ridge. The glaciers of the Kitzsteinhorn shimmer softly in the moonlight. This is where our unique adventure in the heart of the Austrian Alps is about to begin. Mostly on single trails, we cross the Alps twice, over crystal-clear mountain streams and along 14 glaciers through the magnificent high-alpine landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The trails lead through 3 provinces, 7 valleys and 6 villages, past 14 glaciers and 300 peaks over 3,000 m all around.

For everyone something: On the Grossglockner Ultra-Trail (GGUT) Osttirol Trail (OTT), Grossglockner Trail (GGT), Weißsee Glacier World Trail (GWT) and Kaprun Scenic Trail (KST) you can experience parts of the adventure and the wonderful mountain scenery. The trail heroes of tomorrow can explore the trails in Kals am Großglockner and Kaprun at the Mini GGUT and Kids Trail Kaprun.

Also in 2026 the GGUT will be a gathering of international top athletes, with around 2,000 runners from more than 40 nations and guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience and a family-like trail weekend for all.
